Joyful Music and Movement for Infants to 7 Years
Weekly Classes

Your child will be delighted and enriched through the musical activities that are at the heart of the Kindermusik curriculum for each age group.   Each Kindermusik unit (with themes like Wild Animal Park, Beach Days, Around the Farm, Family & Friends) provides you and your child with new songs to sing, music to move with, instruments to explore, stories to tell, and so much more for both in class and at home learning fun during the week.

Monthly Drop-In Classes

Monthly classes are based on a holiday or seasonal theme.  In addition to Kindermusik's delightful mix of songs, movement activities, and instrument play, monthly playdates also include a simple craft and a small instrument for each child to take home.

Ages 3 & 4

Engaging activities that tap into your child's creative spirit, boundless energy, and natural love of music promote your child's readiness for school as well as their fundamental music skills such as keeping a steady beat and singing in tune.  Listening, singing, storytelling, literacy, and pretend play help to set them up for success in schooling.

Your preschooler will fall more in love with music as they enjoy singing songs, playing a variety of percussion instruments, and moving to music from a variety of cultures.  Activities also include a story time, exploring music vocabulary and music notation, playing music in an ensemble, and incorporating their ideas in a newly “made up” verse to a song. What Parents Say . . .

My toddler began her Kindermusik journey mostly nonverbal.  Over the course of 12 weeks our daughter is now singing along to songs, identifying words, images, and sounds she learns about in class, and has begun using her body to make gestures and dance!  The music selection is so beautifully curated, with a mix of classiical and sillly songs, and even tracks that just play everyday sounds.  We are so excited every month to hear the new music and learn the new concepts!  What makes the program truly special for us is the teacher.  She is so gifted with children, they seem naturally drawn to her wam and caring energy.  We are so happy to be learning with her!  Kindermusik day is our favorite day of the week!

I grew up in a very musical household and am always looking for ways to introduce music, instruments, singing, and dancing into my kids' lives. Kindermusik at Music4Kids is my #1 suggestion for early musical education. My kids LOVE going to class. My four year old son loves getting to play drums and use shakers and dance with scarves, and my daughter (6) loves the music and songs and is already learning to play the glockenspiel! The teacher has lots of experience on how to make each class a welcoming and fun environment for kids of all ages and learning abilities. You won't regret trying out a Kindermusik class!

Kindermusik FAQ

Do I have to be a good singer?

No, your child loves your voice, no matter what you or anyone else thinks of it. There is no singing judgement in our Kindermusik classroom.   If you truly don't feel comfortable singing in class, you are welcome to hum or chant along, or somehow vocally participate with your little one, and then go try it at home.

My child is quiet and shy. . .what if she doesn't participate actively in class?

Some children are observational learners.  They may sit and watch much or even all of the time.  As you participate in the activities they will reap benefits from seeing you, their most loved and important teacher, involved in the music and movement.  In one of our classes a number of years ago there was a violin teacher who was committed to staying in Kindermusik even though her little girl in Level 1 and then Level 2 never wanted to do anything in class. However, when this little girl went home, she lined up her dolls and played Kindermusik.   When she moved into a Level 3 class this child came out of her shell and became one of the most active children in the class.  Parents tell us stories like this all the time.  Whether your little one is an explorer, an observer or somewhere in between, rest assured the music and learning are coming through!

Can I bring my infant/toddler/
preschooler to the Parent Sharing Time in Level 4 and 5 classes?

Yes! In classes where the children meet independently with the teacher for the majority of the class, siblings are welcome to join when we bring parents in for the last 10-15 minutes of sharing time.

Can I bring my toddler or preschooler to an infant class?

Kindermusik Foundations classes for moms and dads with infants require your focused and whole-hearted interaction with your little one. This is a very precious time to cherish with your new baby. Therefore we do not allow older children to attend class with you. However, if you would like to attend a class with your infant and toddler or preschooler together, we have several mixed ages classes for you to choose from. Siblings under one year are our guest in older classes, so you can schedule a Foundations class for you and your baby and also bring the baby with you to the mixed ages class as a whole family activity.

My little one is so busy...what if he won't sit in a circle?

We don’t expect him to!   A few children ages 0-2 may stay seated in parent's laps, but we fully expect many of our Level 1 and Level 2 children to walk and explore - this is part of their learning process. Simply follow along with them and engage with them in the activity wherever they are.  Parents often share with us that although they thought their little one wasn’t paying attention in class, at home they demonstrate new movements and skills they gained from Kindermusik!

Are there any rules in the Kindermusik classroom?

Yes, two very important ones.  Walking feet and indoor voices. Exploration and moving about the classroom is expected. However, screaming is very disruptive and running in circles at full speed is dangerous. If your little one is running or screaming, we ask that you take them out into the hall for some cool down time and remind them of these two rules.  Don't worry if you need to repeat this action a few times.  We all have children, understand, and are on the same team. Relax and be consistent with your little one, and they will learn.

I have done the Kindermusik baby and toddler programs, but this year my 3 year old is going to pre-school, and I’m worried that he may feel overwhelmed.

In fact, the opposite is true!  Consistency is your best friend when starting something new. Children need this consistency in times of change. With life getting busier, and your child’s activities more independent in nature, Kindermusik is one place the two of you can spend time focused on each other in a familiar and warm environment.

Can I join after classes have started?

You may join at anytime. Your enrollment fee will be pro-rated if you join after the start of a session so you won't pay for any classes held prior to the day you enrolled.

May we try a class to see if
we like Kindermusik?

Yes!  Come check it out!
